Maya Angelou Public Charter School

Project Description:            Volunteers will repaint the Teacher’s Lounge, organize donated books in the library, and stencil room numbers. Volunteers will also participate in a residential fire safety project and help with paint small murals in offices.

Community Impact:             A newly painted teacher’s lounge will provide a relaxing space for lesson planning. Organizing donated books will improve student access and encourage them to read. Small murals of college logos hung in the college preparation office will provided a visual focus for students and serve as a reminder of higher education opportunities. Finally, a mural of Muhammad Ali will encourage commitment to athletic prowess and social justice.
